Engagement Manager Analytics Consulting Data Science (CPG)

Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid)
Experience: 9+ Years

Role & responsibilities


We are looking for an Engagement Manager to lead analytics consulting engagements in the CPG/Retail space, with a strong focus on Pricing, Promotions, and Revenue Growth Management (RGM). This role requires a hands-on leader with deep data science experience, capable of building and guiding advanced models while managing senior client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead end-to-end analytics engagements for CPG/Retail clients focused on Pricing, Promotions, and RGM
  • Own problem framing and solution design for use cases including:
    • Market Mix Modeling (MMM)
    • Price elasticity and price optimization
    • Trade promotion effectiveness and ROI measurement
    • Demand forecasting and sales planning models
  • Guide and review development of advanced analytics and machine learning models
  • Translate business problems into structured analytical approaches and model frameworks
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science and Engineering teams to ensure scalable and production-ready solutions
  • Drive engagement governance including scope, timelines, quality, and stakeholder communication
  • Quantify and communicate business impact (revenue uplift, margin improvement, trade spend efficiency)
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior client leadership
  • Mentor and develop analytics teams and contribute to reusable RGM accelerators

Preferred candidate profile


Required Skills & Experience


  • 9+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or analytics consulting with CPG/Retail exposure
  • Strong domain expertise in Pricing, Promotions, Trade Spend, and Revenue Growth Management
  • Proven hands-on experience building and guiding:
    • Market Mix Models (MMM)
    • Forecasting models (time series, demand forecasting)
    • Machine learning models (regression, classification, tree-based models, etc.)
  • Strong programming experience in Python for data analysis and modeling
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and transformation
  • Experience working with large-scale, multi-source CPG datasets (sales, pricing, promotions, media, trade)
  • Ability to balance hands-on modeling with client-facing consulting leadership
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • Masters degree (MBA / MS / equivalent) preferred
