Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities
- Development of design concepts for automation, special-purpose machine design, and new product development projects as an independent contributor
- Execute mechanical design engineering projects and provide technical solutions to customers
- Create manufacturing drawings as per customer standards, including GD&T, BOM, and documentation release
- Prepare design calculations to support design (selection of cylinders, mounting bolts, gears, mechanisms, etc.)
- Assist in preparing scope understanding documents, project requirement documents, and cost estimations for proposals
- Coordinate and interact with suppliers for development activities when required
- Support manufacturing teams from a design perspective based on project needs
- Resolve design issues raised during manufacturing using problem-solving techniques
- Execute and implement cost reduction ideas (Value Analysis / Value Engineering VAVE)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines
- Present design concepts to internal technical teams and customers for design reviews
- Act as a team player, complete all design deliverables, and perform self-quality checks before submission
- Work on assigned research topics and prepare consolidated presentations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Analysis, Electrical, Embedded Software, and Manufacturing
- Provide project progress updates and submit weekly timesheets
- Be flexible to attend meetings based on customer-preferred timings
Key Skills & Experience
- 512 years of experience in mechanical design
(Special-purpose machines, automation of manual processes, jigs & fixtures, doors & windows design) - Ability to develop concept designs based on project scope documents or verbal explanations from internal teams or customers
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools
- Ability to prepare clear and effective presentations for internal and customer design reviews
- Strong knowledge of sub-assembly structuring and assembly creation
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience working with international customers is an added advantage

Education
- UG: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
