Job Description

What does a successful Senior API Management Architect/Engineer do at Fiserv

The Senior API Management Architect/Engineer is crucial in shaping our global API Management and integration environment. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams to design Fiservs API integration services platform. You support enterprise solutions with extensive experience in API Management and oversee the complete lifecycle of API proxies and API onboarding. A successful candidate ensures well-designed APIs adhering to platform standards, promoting code reuse and collaboration. You are also expected to have Production Support, Incident handling experience and perform regular Operational activities.

What will you do:

Plan and deliver API management solutions using platforms like IBM Datapower, Apigee Edge, Apigee X, and Hybrid.
Design, develop, and manage IBM DataPower services (multi-protocol gateways, web service proxies, XML firewalls).
Implement API layer requirements like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications.
Build microservices systems using Java, Spring, or Node.js to support API management solutions.
Design API specifications and develop proxies, implementing custom policies using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and other languages.
Configure the Apigee platform, including keystores, trust stores, and KVMs.
Ensure platform health, manage SLAs, and work with QA teams to implement API testing automation.
Lead day-to-day operational activities including Certificate management, Key rotation, environment maintenance automating regular Operational tasks using Scripts (Python, shell, etc.).
Provide L2/3 production support for API platforms and associated components Manage resolve incidents, outages performance issues in a timely and structured manner.
Participate in the weekly 12*7 on-call rotation (as applicable within the team) ensuring SLAs and availability targets are met.

What you will need to have:

6+ years of firsthand development experience with IBM DataPower, Google Apigee platforms like Apigee X, Hybrid, or Edge including proxy/service development, deployments, and configuration.
4+ years of direct experience with major programming and scripting languages like Python/ JavaScript.
2+ years of experience in developing microservices.
Bachelor''s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent military experience.

What would be great to have:

Cloud developer or cloud architect certification in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with API testing and automation test frameworks.
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, or experience with cloud environments like Azure or AWS.
