JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Secondary Commerce Teacher (Classes XIXII)
School: Jack N Jill School
Work Type: On-Site
Experience: Minimum 3 Years (Senior Secondary preferred)
1. Role Summary
The Senior Secondary Commerce Teacher will be responsible for delivering concept-driven and exam-oriented instruction in Commerce subjects (Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, etc.) for Classes XI and XII. The role focuses on board examination performance, conceptual clarity, and practical business understanding, preparing students for higher education and commerce-related careers.
2. Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Subject Delivery
- Teach assigned Commerce subjects for Classes XIXII as per CBSE/RBSE syllabus.
- Deliver structured lessons aligned with board patterns and marking schemes.
- Use real-world business examples, case studies, and practical applications.
Academic Planning & Curriculum Execution
- Prepare annual planners, lesson plans, and revision schedules.
- Ensure timely syllabus completion with adequate practice and revision.
- Design worksheets, assignments, projects, and question banks.
Assessment & Board Exam Preparation
- Set question papers, conduct tests, and evaluate answer sheets.
- Train students in answer-writing skills and time management for board exams.
- Identify learning gaps and conduct remedial or enrichment sessions.
Student Mentoring & Career Guidance
- Mentor students on academic progress and subject confidence.
- Guide students regarding higher studies in commerce, management, finance, and economics.
- Maintain classroom discipline and academic integrity.
Parent & Academic Coordination
- Communicate performance updates and improvement areas to parents.
- Coordinate with Academic Coordinators and subject teams.
- Participate in academic reviews, trainings, and meetings.
Professional & School Responsibilities
- Participate in school events, examinations, and assigned duties.
- Follow academic policies, documentation standards, and timelines.
- Engage in continuous professional development.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong command over Commerce subjects.
- Board-exam focused teaching approach.
- Ability to simplify numerical and theoretical concepts.
- Effective classroom management and mentoring skills.
- Strong communication and academic planning abilities.
