In particular, the company is manufacturing highly differentiable breakthrough prefabricated building modules (PODs) that completely disrupt how buildings are built. POD Foundry modules are multi-disciplinary and utilize innovations across all building disciplines, architecture, structure and MEPF services.POD Foundry is setting up its first factory in Vizag which will be completely export oriented. You will have the opportunity to witness the entire factory setup cycle from sketch to mass production. We are getting together best in class structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, BIM Engineers/Architects, QA/QC professionals and managers, among others. You will have the opportunity to work on all stages of the building module development lifecycle in the factory, that is prototyping, EVT, DVT, PVT & MP. Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Inspection, Compliance & Certification Leader to manage all regulatory, quality, inspection, and certification requirements for modular POD manufacturing intended for the United States market. This role will ensure that all structural, electrical, fire safety, plumbing, and IoT-integrated systems comply with applicable US building codes, safety standards, and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory & Code Compliance (US-Focused)
- Ensure compliance with:
- International Building Code (IBC)
- International Residential Code (IRC)
- NEC (National Electrical Code)
- NFPA (Fire codes)
- UL standards
- ASTM standards
- ICC-ES requirements
- Coordinate approvals with third-party inspection agencies and certification bodies.
- Manage documentation for AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) approvals in the US.
- Track state-specific variations (e.g., California Title 24, Florida hurricane compliance, etc.).
2. Factory Inspection & Quality Systems
- Establish and manage:
- In-process inspections
- Final pre-shipment inspections
- Structural and load testing validation
- Implement QA/QC systems aligned with:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 14001 (if applicable)
- OSHA-related US safety expectations
- Develop inspection checklists for:
- Structural frame
- MEP systems
- IoT integration
- Fire-rated assemblies
3, Certification & Testing Management
- Liaise with:
- US certification bodies
- Testing laboratories (UL, Intertek, SGS, etc.)
- Manage product listing and labeling requirements.
- Oversee type approvals, factory audits, and compliance renewals.
- Maintain technical files and compliance dossiers.
4. IoT & Smart Systems Compliance
- Ensure IoT components meet:
- FCC certification
- UL listing
- Cybersecurity standards (as applicable)
- Validate interoperability and data security compliance.
Documentation & Risk Management
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for:
- Structural calculations
- Test reports
- Material certifications
- Traceability records
- Conduct internal audits.
- Lead corrective action programs.
5.Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with:
- Design & engineering teams
- Production team
- Procurement (for certified materials sourcing)
- US sales team for jurisdictional approvals
- Support client audits and US-based inspections (virtual or physical).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in:
- Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical
- 10 - 15+ years of experience in:
- Modular construction / prefab / structural fabrication
- US code compliance experience (mandatory)
- Experience handling certification for export to the USA.
- Strong knowledge of US building codes and regulatory landscape.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- ISO Lead Auditor
- PMP (optional)
- Experience working with ICC / UL / Intertek
