Job Description
Overall Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and microservices
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Write clean, scalable, and secure code following best practices
- Optimize application performance and scalability
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues promptly
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends in backend development
- Document technical specifications and system architecture
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience with Express.js or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of RESTful API development and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with database systems like MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Exposure to containerization tools like Docker
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, or Jest
- Backend Development: Node.js, Express.js
- API Development: RESTful services, JSON, XML
- Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Version Control CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Docker
- Testing Debugging: Mocha, Chai, Jest
- Cloud Deployment: AWS, Azure, GCP (basic)
- Containerization Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (optional)
- Other Tools: Postman, npm/yarn
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js
- Developing and enhancing backend APIs and microservices
- Collaborating with front-end and DevOps teams
- Writing unit and integration tests to ensure code integrity
- Reviewing code and assisting junior developers
- Troubleshooting and fixing bugs or performance bottlenecks
- Participating in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies
- Documenting system design and implementation details
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Proven experience in building scalable backend systems using Node.js
- Relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality deliverables
- Adaptability to new technologies and changing project needs
