REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on Technical Lead to own and evolve the existing platform while driving new development. The role spans Python with AWS, PostgreSQL and healthcare data standards (FHIR/CQMs) with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted development and scalable delivery.
- Own the technical roadmap, reliability, and performance of the existing platform, lead enhancements and new module development.
- Provide architectural guidance, perform code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor engineers.
- Champion AI-assisted development and code-generation tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate delivery.
- Apply HL7 FHIR knowledge (resources/profiles) and map to analytical models; support FHIR-based ingestion and transformations.
- Leverage understanding of Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) to inform data design and validation.
- Partner with product owners, architects, and SMEs to translate requirements into technical specs and delivery plans.
- Drive sprint planning, estimation, risk management, and release readiness, communicate status and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership owning platforms and leading Python engineering teams.
- Strong Python expertise with robust API design, backend architecture, and system integration experience.
- Deep proficiency with AWS architecture (serverless and/or containerized), CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and security/IAM best practices.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Exposure to healthcare data standards such as FHIR and CQMs, including ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows.
- Proven mindset toward AI-assisted development, leveraging tools like Cursor, Claude, and Copilot to enhance velocity, quality, and maintainability.
- Driving architectural decisions and long-term platform evolution.
- Ensuring code quality, automated testing, and reliability through modern engineering practices.
- Troubleshooting complex production issues, ensuring timely resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Managing technical debt and promoting continuous improvement across the engineering team.
- Supporting compliance, audit readiness, and data governance efforts where required.
