Job Description
Role & responsibilities
HV JB BDU PDU (5+ years)
Mechanical Product Design | Automotive | Electrical connectors | HV | Plastics | DFM | Tolerance stack-up | Thermal | Sealing | CAD
- Knowledge of automotive electrical connection system
- Awareness of different types of connections
- Knowledge of different automotive connector standards (JASO/ISO/DIN/USCAR/AIAG etc.)
- Knowledge of electrical system design & its integration.
- 3D software (Solid Works /Catia V5/ NX)) Module Knowledge: Solid Modelling/Sheet Metal/ Assembly/Surfacing
- Product Design & Development (NPD- New Product Development Cycle)
- Knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Up, VAVE etc.
- Knowledge of W/H, Components, Sheet Metal, Rubber & Plastic Parts.
- Having experience in component Manufacturing (Injection Moulding, Stamping, Casting, Machining etc.) & Assembly processes
- Coordinating with customer & finalize specifications of JB, propose technical solution.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, product engineers, and manufacturing teams. .
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in EV JB technology and standards.
- Drive system-level integration for High Voltage (HV) platforms, power distribution, switching technologies, and thermal management solutions
- Select E-components and integrate circuit schematics into electromechanical assemblies for seamless product functionality.
- Selection of advanced materials including engineering resins, die-cast alloys, sheet metals, and elastomers based on functional requirements
- Awareness of simulation, Product Validation (DVP) & automotive standards.
- Own the full product lifecycle for systems including BDUs (Battery Disconnect unit), relay/fuse boxes, power modules, and channel/trough-based electrical distribution systems
- Oversee product and process compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO, AIS)
- Facilitate Design Reviews, coordinate DFMEA, Tolerance Stack-up, and DVP execution, should have knowledge of EMI/EMC
- Strategically align new component design with manufacturability, cost, and performance targets using DFM/DFA and VA/VE methodologies
- Approve and supervise technical documentation including engineering standards, handling manuals, CAD data packs, and PLM deliverables.
- Provide technical oversight for 3D CAD design including part modelling, surfacing, large assemblies, and design validation.
- Knowledge of standards - IEC 60664, 60694, UL 840, AIAG, ISO 6469-3, ISO 16750
