Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Engineering:
- Act as technical liaison between clients, customers and vendors to resolve issues as needed.
- Provide escalation support for outages and major application issues.
- Act as a technical resource for business unit related projects and cross company initiatives.
- Providing 24x7 on-call rotation support
- Maintaining strictest confidentiality
- Work with Infrastructure team on escalating system issues
- Complete RCA on system related issues
- Creating and maintaining documentation relating to system configuration, processes and procedures
Cloud Migration Strategy Support:
- Analyze existing on-premises infrastructure, network, and applications.
- Collaborate across multiple business units in developing comprehensive migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Work closely with IT team colleagues, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and address concerns.
- Provide analytical, technical, and administrative support in the planning and architecture of new cloud environments.
- Assist in the selection of appropriate cloud services for specific applications and workloads.
Cloud Migration Implementation Support:
- Collaborate in the design and execution of migration strategies, ensuring system integrity and security during the transition from on premise to cloud environments.
- Set up, configure, and support cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) based on best practices and security standards.
- Utilize tools and scripts to automate and streamline migration processes.
- Cloud implementation using IaC (Terraform) and other automation to assure consistency, governance adherence, and control
Cloud Migration Testing and Validation:
- Conduct thorough testing of migrated applications, systems, and networks.
- Validate functionality and performance in the new cloud environment.
Cloud Migration Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of migration processes, configurations, and changes.
- Report on project progress and provide updates to management.
Ongoing Optimization and Support for all Cloud Environments:
- Research and analyze cloud patches and maintenance configurations.
- Monitor cloud environments post-migration for performance and security.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and support of Level 1 and 2 (CloudOps) Support. Provide Level 3 (Cloud Engineering) Day to Day support (responding and resolving incidents and problems). Mentor junior members on the team
- Develop Agile cloud support services following ITSM best practices
- Familiarity with ITIL Change and Incident Management
- Identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings in cloud usage
- Implement and maintain Azure Backups for data protection and recovery. Monitor backup and replication health. Regularly test backup and recovery procedures
- Support DR systems testing and planning for cloud-based environments.
Secondary Engineering:
- Assist primary engineers in the areas of certificates, Servers OS (Linux/Windows), and Patching
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and project management skills and be able to apply them while working on a large complex technical assignment
- Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally with excellent English to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and priorities to achieve personal, departmental, and corporate goals and objectives.
- Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making to achieve organizational objectives, identify and resolve IT problems.
- Excellent analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
Specific Qualifications:
- Relevant cloud certifications (AZ900/AZ104/AWS CP)
- Experience creating and managing cloud environments (3+ years)
- Proven experience with on-premises cloud migrations (2+ years)
- Extensive Terraform experience
- Knowledge of Azure cloud platforms and their services.
- Experience working closely in a collaborative team setting.
- Familiarity with networking principles in cloud environments
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with server operating systems (Windows/Linux)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant Terraform certifications
- Experience with Service Now, Jira, and Confluence
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), ITIL, and Agile
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
