Job Description
Professional Engineer with Bachelors/ Masters Degree in Civil Engineering/Structural. estimation, engineering, co-ordination, front end & detailed design of structures/ foundations for large industrial projects preferably related to Oil, Gas & Petrochemical plants/Industrial Infrastructure. Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of practices. Candidate should have exposure to 3D modelling and viewing tools such as S3D, Tekla, Navisworks, SPR and shall be proficient in use of industry standard structural and Finite Element Analysis package such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, MIDAS etc
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals, design criteria, specifications, budget and schedules for projects of varying complexity.
- Perform the finite element modelling and structural analysis of various steel and concrete structures.
- Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendation.
- Preparation and/or assists in preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
- Reviews and checks work of junior team members and provides input for their performance evaluation.
Job Knowledge:
- Possesses a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
- Proficiency in structural design for heavy industrial plants (Pellet, Sinter, RMHS, Glass), including steel structures, RCC foundations, dynamic load considerations, and compliance with IS codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 1893).
- Experience in conveyor galleries, transfer towers, silos, bunkers, chimneys, and high-rise steel frameworks; ability to handle large-span structures and integrate with process equipment layouts.
- Strong capability in connection detailing.
- Plans, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work.
- Performs work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
- Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between speciality and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and consultants and between other groups.
- Understanding of the roles played by other disciplines Plant Layout and Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Geotech and Construction etc.
- Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Experience in leading a team of engineers and designers in EPC projects.
- Capable of planning, assigning, guiding and monitoring work of the team members.
