Job Description
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Storage and Backup solutions to join our team. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level storage and backup systems across on-premises and multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, and maintain storage and backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Pure storage, Rubrik, etc.).
- Manage and optimize data protection strategies, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot storage systems performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Administer and maintain backup tools such as Commvault, Rubrik, and related technologies.
- Develop and enforce data retention policies and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions.
- Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and performance tuning for storage environments.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Implement and maintain security best practices for data storage and backup systems.
- Provide technical support and root cause analysis for storage and backup-related incidents.
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures for operational excellence.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing storage and backup strategies.
Preferred candidate profile
- 7+ years of experience in storage and backup administration across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Pure Storage, Commvault, Rubrik).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including event-driven architecture, DevOps practices, and containerization.
- Hands-on experience building real-time data pipelines using Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, and Grafana.
- Strong knowledge of source control systems like SVN and Git.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Perl.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, even with limited information.
- Ability to work independently and track issues to identify trends.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Sound judgment and autonomy in handling both emergency and routine situations.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams for issue resolution. Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Multi-Cloud administration.
- Working experience in the financial services industry
