Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman.
- Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes (K8s) clusters across onprem and cloud environments.
- Implement and operate workloads on Managed Kubernetes Services such as AKS, EKS, GKE, or OpenShift.
- Develop and automate CI/CD workflows leveraging GitOps methodologies (Argo CD, Flux, etc.).
- Ensure bestpractice operational hygiene across Kubernetes clusters including scaling, upgrades, and workload governance.
- Implement and advocate container security and DevSecOps practices across the build and deployment lifecycle.
- Develop scripts and automation tools using Bash, Python, or similar languages for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with platform engineering, cloud teams, and application developers to support container adoption.
- Contribute to developing reusable components, standards, and blueprints for container platform enablement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across container runtimes, orchestration layers, and CI/CD systems.
Required Skills:
- Strong handson experience with containerization using Docker and/or Podman.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts deployments, services, ingress, storage, operators, RBAC, and networking.
- Experience working with Managed Kubernetes Services (AKS/EKS/GKE/OpenShift).
- Proficiency in CI/CD automation and GitOps workflows (Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, system administration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, Python, or equivalent languages.
- Handson experience with Container Security, including image scanning, runtime protection, policies, and DevSecOps integration.
- Understanding of microservices, cloud-native patterns, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm, etc.).
Good to have Skills:
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Knowledge of cloud-native observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK).
- Exposure to FinOps, platform engineering, or cloud cost optimization for K8s workloads.
- Experience with OpenShift administration or enterprise container platforms.
- Relevant certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS, Kubernetes & cloud certifications).
