TCS is looking for Mainframe Developer.
Experience: 4 - 8 Years
Education: Minimum 15 years of full-time education (10th, 12th and Graduation)
Location: Bangalore. Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gurgoan

Key responsibilities
Please find a brief description of the role (Mainframe Developer):
- Work as part of DevOps Scrum team and be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining Mainframe applications.
- Responsible for development in COBOL,DB2,JCL,VSAM , IMS, z/OS connect
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of mainframe changes and post implementation support.
- Designing and developing high volume, low latency applications for mission critical systems and delivering high availability and performance.
- Contributing in all phases of development cycle
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- Hands on experience in programming using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS
- Knowledge of batch and online programming.
- Knowledge of using mainframe tools like SPUFI, QMF, Tivoli scheduler, File manager, version control tools
- Knowledge of REXX, Z/OS connect is an additional preference.
- Knowledge of Transaction processing is an additional preference.
- Experience with Agile way of working.

Skillset : COBOL, JCL (Microfocus Optional)
Database : DB2/SQL Server (Optional - IMS)
Concepts : Checkpoint restart (DB2/IMS), GSAM file processing
Knowledge on batch scheduler and batch flow processing (preferred - Control-M scheduler).
Worked in online transaction flow, performed debug and analysis of abends to find root cause
Able to troubleshoot issues, perform deep dive analyses on the call flow across multiple Cobol programs, perform development/code corrections and test/debug COBOL programs.
Awareness to .Net technologies will be added advantage
Good understanding on Agile/Scrum model

Required skills:
- Experience working in ZOS connect EE and DB2 Rest and extensive knowledge in CICS webservices
- Development experience using FileAid, Xpeditor, IBM explorer for ZOS, Visual studio.
- Proficient with SOAP, WSDL and JSON. A comprehensive understanding of SOA and Restful APIs
- Experience of working with code repositories, bug tracking tools and wikis Tools - Gitlab, Endevor, JIRA, Confluence
- Knowledge of different security integration patterns such as basic authentication, client authentication (MATLS) and Oauth(JWT)
- Experience of DevOps and Agile methodology and associated toolsets and methodologies CICD practices, Jenkins.
Desirable skills:
- Java skill set
- Strong foundation in Java including OOP, functional programming (java 8+)
- Familiarity with Spring Boot's annotations, configuration, and how it simplifies Spring application setup and deployment.
- Restful API development experience
