Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a Sous Chef South Indian at Basil Hotels & Hospitality Services in Bengaluru. The role entails overseeing the preparation and cooking of South Indian cuisine dishes, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and consistency, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Job Requirements: Daily inspection of Kitchen areas. Conducts daily briefings for the culinary team and cascades relevant information. Anticipate guest needs wherever possible Coordinating the preventive maintenance schedule of the Kitchen area with the Engineering department. Keep the team motivated at all times, by constantly engaging with them. Consistent check of food quality for outlets Establish a rapport with group leaders to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business. Recruit and train new employees, assign new employees to work with experienced Chefs occasionally, and observe the report made by the reporting Chef. Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counseling employees as appropriate, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management. Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting and monitoring performance. Create a career development plan for all reporting employees. Delegates appropriately to develop supervisors and subordinates to accept responsibility and meet clearly defined goals and objectives. Actively involved in menu development and maintaining updated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold in the Food and Beverage operation. Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards. Works closely with the Purchase Manager, creates a great rapport with the vendors, and gets the best quality products competitively. Qualifications Extensive experience in South Indian cuisine preparation Demonstrated leadership skills in a kitchen environment Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently,
