Job Description
- As a Metallurgist with over 10 years of experience, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the quality assurance and control processes within the foundry operations. You will be tasked with establishing and implementing quality control procedures to ensure that both raw materials and finished castings meet the required quality specifications. Your role will also involve analyzing and optimizing metallurgical processes to enhance product quality and reduce defects. By implementing best practices and innovative techniques in casting and heat treatment processes, you will contribute to the overall improvement of the manufacturing processes. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing various testing procedures, including chemical, mechanical, and non-destructive testing, to verify material properties and performance. It will be crucial for you to ensure that all products meet international standards such as ASTM and ISO, as well as any customer-specific requirements. Furthermore, you will be expected to investigate casting defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence. Maintaining detailed records of quality inspections, testing results, and process audits, and providing regular quality reports to management and customers will also be part of your responsibilities. Your role will also involve ensuring compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and industry-specific certifications. This will include conducting internal quality audits and supporting external audits by customers or certifying bodies. As a leader, you will be responsible for leading and training the quality assurance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across departments. You will also be required to interact with customers to address complaints and quality-related queries effectively, as well as coordinate with clients to understand quality expectations and provide technical support as needed. Additionally, you will play a key role in vendor quality management by evaluating and approving suppliers based on material quality and performance. Monitoring supplier performance and implementing quality improvement plans if necessary will also fall under your purview. Finally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all quality processes comply with safety and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment in the foundry operations.,
