Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee molecular diagnostic testing related to hematological disorders (e.g., leukemia, lymphoma, hemoglobinopathies, clotting disorders).
- Conduct advanced techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing), FISH, flow cytometry, and other molecular assays.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by maintaining strict quality control (IQC/EQC) standards.
- Collaborate with hematologists and pathologists to support diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.
- Maintain and calibrate molecular testing instruments and ensure optimal functioning.
- Prepare, validate, and standardize reagents, controls, and panels for molecular tests.
- Document, analyze, and interpret test results in compliance with NABL / ISO 15189:2022 standards.
- Train junior technologists and provide guidance on molecular testing protocols.
- Participate in research, method development, and validation of new molecular diagnostic tests.
- Ensure biosafety, infection control, and ethical handling of patient samples.
- Support audits, documentation, and reporting for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of hematology and molecular biology techniques.
- Hands-on experience in PCR, sequencing, and molecular assays.
- Familiarity with NABL/NABH standards and quality systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret molecular diagnostic results.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong teamwork and coordination with clinicians and lab staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
