Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Identity & Access Blockchain Specialist to architect and implement decentralized identity (DID) and blockchain-based access control systems. Youll be instrumental in designing solutions that allow individuals and organizations to control their digital identities, authenticate securely, and manage access permissions across distributed networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement decentralized identity (DID) and self-sovereign identity (SSI) solutions using blockchain standards and protocols.
- Build or integrate identity frameworks such as W3C DIDs, Verifiable Credentials (VCs), OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML with blockchain backends.
- Develop smart contracts to manage access control logic, permissions, roles, and credentials on-chain.
- Evaluate and work with blockchain identity platforms (e.g., Sovrin, uPort, Polygon ID, Civic, Dock, Ontology, Cheqd).
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design secure access flows across decentralized applications (dApps) and enterprise systems.
- Define and enforce privacy-preserving techniques using cryptography (e.g., ZKPs, selective disclosure, hash commitments).
- Ensure regulatory compliance with data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) in identity architecture.
- Contribute to technical documentation, whitepapers, and standardization efforts.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in decentralized identity, authentication, and blockchain IAM.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years experience in IAM, cybersecurity, or blockchain development.
- Deep understanding of:
- Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs)
- OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT
- Smart contract development (Solidity, Rust, or DAML)
- Public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital signatures
- Hands-on experience with one or more blockchain identity platforms or protocols (e.g., Polygon ID, Hyperledger Indy/Aries, Dock, uPort, Ceramic, Spruce).
- Familiarity with privacy-enhancing cryptographic techniques (ZKPs, blind signatures, etc.).
- Solid understanding of access control models: RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, etc.
